Student welfare is important and we all have a duty of care. Legal welfare of students however falls under strict legislation
Under 18 student welfare sits with the school that holds the CAAW as per the government requirements. It is not held with Global Booking Service or our host families. External guardianship can be organised if desired, please contact us if this is the case.

“Unless you are a secondary exchange student or a Foreign Affairs or Defence student, organise for your education provider to approve your welfare arrangements. Your education provider will issue a CAAW and advise us of your welfare arrangements start and end date.”
Our hosts are orientated and given an Under 18 Code of Conduct and Information on Mitigating Risk when hosting under 18s, they also have their Blue Cards, however they do not act as legal welfare guardians.
